You can't set the Advanced Trader to prevent you from losing money...only to make profits... (more inside)

own a stock (bond, etc.) and it's priced at $20, and you don't want to lose money, so you set Advanced Trader to sell it if it drops to $19, the order goes through right away, as the HSX computer processes it since the price is ABOVE $19.

The same holds true on shorts - if you have a stock (bond, etc) that is priced at $20, and you tell Advanced Trader to cover it if the price RISES to $21, the as the HSX computer processes it since the price is LOWER than $21.

You can't use Advanced Trader to prevent losses...only to make profits.  The reason for this is that HSX feels "stop losses" would lead to manipulation of prices as people sell off stocks that are dropping, or cover stocks that are rising.

Again, you can only use Advanced Trader to make profits...not prevent losses.
