Question for the powers that be.
Is there a specific formula used to set the prices and qty of IPO's?
The more I play and learn it just feels like the prices and qty offered don't really have any meening, feels like they're just randomly assigned (and the random price and qty chances after the calander is up doesn't help).
Cap3 - 125
Apes3 - 80
dispicable me3 - 125
transformer5 - 125
SW Gareth - 120
Thor3 - 90
tmnt2 - 90
gaurdians2 -150
These are just some of the movies IPO'ed in the last year on the movers chart today. These are all big blockbusters that should be 200+/400+ on release. (don't know what the qty caps were so don't know what the differences are but if I remember right only 2 of those 120-125 ones matched the initial qty of the others.)
I understand they come out at different times, different actors, different fans, etc. But I can honestly say, after all these years of playing, that I have no idea of the how and why of it. Is this something that is secret (a business thing)? Or worse yet, something already explained and I just haven't found it (hate it when that happens)?
I don't need to know, but sure am curious as all get out!
