So I was active 5-10 years ago, but not a serious player. Came back a month ago and had about $15 mil to work with.
In one month, I've gone from $15 mil to $23 mil, but know there has to be a way to do better.
I like to be active, as it's a nice break in between tasks at work.
So far my strategy has been:
1) Trade on news. Usually if news is posted, I buy. More recently, I have sold the 'big movers' at the end of the day as they seem to drop the next day -- unless they are a very popular movie to begin with, then I hold it longer as these seem more stable.
2) I look at the list of top movers first thing in the morning, pick a few of the lower priced ones in the morning, and see if I can jump on a trend. If it drops much at all, I sell right away. And again, I even sell most of my 'big movers' at the end of the day.
3) I play IPO's, and hold or short based on the trend I see on the 'held long/held short' stats. Unless its a major, known movie, I usually sell the next day.
4) I play starbonds, as I have found KaiGee's site.
I'd love to discuss strategies for improving initial growth, or receive links to any similar discussions that have already taken place. I'd also love to know of any other useful sites (maybe not shown on HSX 'Tools of the Trade', that can give me an edge on my 'day trading' strategy.
