Penny stocks can be fun. They can be profitable. BUT, messing with pennies will never make you as much as good investments in mainline stocks. The problem with a penny stock that's opening 'this' week, is that it's probably a limited release, and it's low prospect to make significant dollars is already figured into the price... so, you are not likely to see much, if any, profit.
