The best time to sell is when you have a better option for your money elsewhere. It also depends on your trading style, size of port, etc
For example, if you have a very small port and you're holding an opener that you expect to adjust at close to its current, HSX price, the best time to sell may be just before opening weekend. The benefit is that you can use the money to trade over the weekend rather than have it locked up until Sunday. The obvious downside is that if the movie surprises and adjusts way up (or down), then you'll miss out.
Obviously, if you expect there to be a big opening adjust then you should stay invested in the stock.
If you do hold an opener over the weekend, you should consider your options immediately after adjust. Most movie stocks fall in price the day after their opening adjust as traders move on to other, more profitable options like Tuesday's starbond adjusts or future openers.
