This is Neil's Mom: Unfortunately, Neil passed away on Friday evening... (Please read)

Hello:

This is Neil's mother, of NeilSite_VanThomas portfolio.

Last night, I attempted to post this via my own newly active HSX account (Neils_Mom), but I was denied for some reason.

So, on Friday evening, my son, Neil Van Thomas, died of complications involving sepsis while in hospice.

Over the weekend, we held a memorial service for him, and on Sunday, he was buried.

May he rest in peace: Neil Van Thomas (1979 - 2020).

FYI: I am a registered nurse, and Neil was living with me until a recent dispute cost him a trip to the hospital.

Neil has been active on this site for approx. 22 years, nearly as long as its existence, maintaining one portfolio or another.

As a day trader, he would switch between his real trades and trade on this site, which I believe gave him some sort of release.

He would get very tense as his trading losses have mounted over the years, and I, as a loving and forving and understanding mother, would help him financially.

Day and night he toiled, so sure that one day not only would his futures trading finally reach some success, but also that he would achieve a #1 rank on this site.

However, in recent years, he has gained considerable weight.

I was concerned that being middle-aged, he would never have a family.

I told him, "You know, you're never going to find the love of your life in my basement!"

But that's when he finally confided in me: That he is gay.

Wow! What a real breakthrough!

I told him that I knew, that I've known for quite some time (call it a mother's intuition, or whatever).

Oh, I love my dead, gay son!

Last week, Neil handed over his personal details, accounts, etc.

He said that he made many great friends on this site.

Specifically, he mentioned the following aliases:

DTravel
RazorHawk
grory
Roto_Hockey
KaiGee
Oleg_Max

His final wish was that all of his friends here on HSX, would simply change their profile pic to his.

C'mon! Let's see those profile pics change in memory of NeilSite_VanThomas!

I know he would do the same for you, and I am relying on that list of his closest friends to start the trend.

Now for MY request:

I ask that the person running this site, (I believe he goes by "Antibody"), to send a virtual "lowering of the flag" in remembrance of Neil by changing the #1 rank to NeilSite_VanThomas for just 1 day...that's all.

Thank you all for being such wonderful friends to my late son!
