This game has been around for 13+ years as a free game, I see no need for them to charge $$...
The premise being that HSX sells the 'data' they collect from us, as players and sell it to various Hollywood companies, TV, studios, etc.
I've been playing this game for 11+ years and personally, I would NOT pay to play it. It's a fun site for me, I enjoy hearing about movies, playing openers (mostly) and other aspects of HSX, but for me... no, I would not pay to play it.
Personally, I think their formula has worked for them for years (selling the data) and just like Neilson Ratings who networks rely on for which shows are popular for advertising dollars, etc., I think studios, Hollywood, etc., feel that HSX's 'service' and data are worth enough to keep them around - otherwise HSX would've NOT survived this long.
It's just my 4 cents.
