short explanation of short

It means you're betting that the value of said stock or bond is going to DROP.  So however much it drops, that's how much profit you make.  To short a stock, just click either "Short" or "Short Max".  When you're ready to get rid of it, you don't click the "Sell" button, you click either "Cover" or "Cover All".  Hope that helps.
