Somebody would have to do the research, but a lot of the calls/puts cash out at $2 or less. Making the IPO $5
would make a lot of the calls and puts short both ways. .....
Example...MOVIE is trading at about 40 Puts and Calls are for $15 for the weekend....
If the IPO is $5 per share, that means that the movei would have to gross $20 and adjust to 54 to make a profit for the call....the movie would have to gross less than $10 to make a profit for the adjust (and adjust to 27) Most movies would gross between 10 and 20 and would encourage you to short and short.....
At $2 the movie would have to gross more than 17 for the call to be profitable and less than 13 for the Call....both more likely although you could short both.
Hopefully this makes sense.
