THE ENTERTAINMENT MARKET
First, I can't believe no one has mentioned Yahoo! yet. Also, I wonder whether studios desire publicity concerning these marketing efforts
might they fear that efforts to attract faith-based customers, if publicized, could disincline interest in the reality-based community? Do they try to conduct these campaigns in a down-low manner (wincing when the Times or another newsgatherer covers the story) or, instead, do they hope earned media will amplify the campaign?
I also wonder how many home-schooling parents would approve an R-rated entertainment for themselves (let alone for their children). I suspect the general rule is no R movies for those students, and I would find it difficult to fund a campaign relying on open-minded and flexible home-schooling parents.
