There are 5 factors that go into this rating

1)How much money you made per day this week

2)How much money you made per day last week

3)How much the rate of (1) differs from the rate of (2), this is acceleration. Note, penalties are given to large accelerations that result from going from a negative velocity last week to positive this week. Green velocities are rewarded.

4)How much money you made over all last week (this is KaiGee's list)

5)The size of the largest port (grory's) divided by the size of your port.

All 1-5 are scaled by some factors in order to make the list not skewed towards either small or large ports.

So, not only does it measure how well you've been making money the last couple of weeks, but if your consistently making a good amount wrt your port size and if that rate is increasing. This can be thought as gaining momentum.
