This same scenario happened twice to several of my Vancouver clients .
Each time the project was shelved permanently. They'll have to pay the local talent, but in most cases local actors are making scale (if that) plus a 5 year buyout which amounts to around $1000 a day, so not a big hit there. with the Canadian dollar at par with US less and less productions are moving to Vancouver. They just don't usually get this far.

They're only at pre-production so I don't think they've hired any local actors let alone pay them for not acting. {nm} Jan 05, 12:29
