1) TV Network ads that I saw didnt show that Drew Barrymore was in the movie (or even that she directed it)
2) Movie stars Ellen Page ...big thing she did was Juno which seems like a lifetime ago
3) Movie about Roller Derby (semi popular sport from 30 years ago)
4) The TV ads I saw didnt know how to sell the movie they just jumped from one scene to another (is this a sports movie? a teenage rebellion movie? a girl power movie? a romantic comedy?) it didnt market the movie as any "kind" of movie ...just simply: heres the girl from Juno, heres some girls playing roller derby, heres Justin Long, heres a girl falling down playing roller derby, come see our movie.
