I don't really get how height/size is significant to the story. If it is, the movie would never get made because there aren't really that
many tall actors, and they'd have to find some that could play off of each other anyway.
Your point about Hagrid brings this even more to light, as Robbie Coltrane is a very normal 6'1", they just used special effects to make the character come to life. In Cruise's case, they've always used positioning to make him appear as tall as they want him to be. The movie could very well end up being horrible, but those discounting it completely because of height are possibly missing out on something that could be good.
