Do you mean the two openers (hsx-wide)?
There is no good comp, based on genre and MDAMO, in the list of limited opening / second week expansion films in BOM's "Focus Features" list. The JJARM comedies had much better openings, but never went anywhere near hsx-wide. I can imagine supposing a MDAMO film could get a wide release easier than a JJARM comedy.
There have been other good January horror openings, but on later weekends than this (coming) one.

I meant the Christmas openers. But I suppose the new films are also awkward fits. {nm} Dec 30, 20:35
