Movies

I don't think either matters, provided that the movie has a Christian message that appeals to Christian (and general) audiences.

God's Not Dead had success and it was fictional, and Ben Hur is being made with an eye on Christian audiences. And I'd guess that most people watching the movie won't know that Anne Rice has left the church.

Thanks for the proper formatting AB ;) {nm} Colt 1911 May 16, 13:06

Yep, it's super-easy to keep secrets these days, especially from networked groups. :-/ What makes it not matter much is Focus Features. {nm} KalElFan May 16, 14:25

It's not about keeping a secret, it's about if a group gets excited enough to make a big deal out of it, and whether it takes. {nm} RogerMore May 16, 18:43

The context was this... KalElFan May 16, 23:59

I think you should look from outside your personal context. RogerMore May 17, 07:14

"Fictional story" (as DL says) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Rice#Renunciation_of_Christianity (as DL omits) will limit upside. {nm} KalElFan May 16, 13:50

Darren Aronofsky is an atheist and Noah got standing ovations from Christian audiences. {nm} tatoufan May 16, 14:26

LOL WHAT {nm} adrenalin112 May 16, 14:32

Aronofsky is an atheist, Noah made 100M and I don't there is a limited upside (as suggested above) based on A. Rices beliefs. {nm} tatoufan May 16, 14:56

im moreso questioning the standing ovation part. {nm} adrenalin112 May 16, 16:31

That was Noah, and DA was more faithful to the story than Rice's fictional child Christ "... Out of Egypt.". DA also grew up religious... KalElFan May 16, 14:58

Besides the articles that were posted here around the opening"...one packed AMC theater in Santa Monica gave the film a standing ovation..." tatoufan May 16, 15:46

Well, okay. :-) Santa Monica is not exactly the Bible Belt though, and Hollywood industry folk could've been standing and applauding. {nm} KalElFan May 16, 17:45

Aronofsky is Jewish, not Atheist. Modern Christian definitions of "faith* are wholly unrelated to any Jewish tradition. {nm} tawdryhepburn May 18, 13:48
