I wonder if the familiar they-were-outnumbered (in this case "300" to "5") story-telling device. . .
... will somehow slip into the background in the film. On the one hand there is, in the trailer, frank talk about the embrace of violence, but then there is also this obligatory and enabling they-were-outnumbered spin, which I suspect in the case of empires is seldom the case.
Oh, there is Jared Diamond's account of the fall of the Incas, where the Spanish were outnumbered roughly 80,000 to fewer than 500. But one side had firearms.
