It does inspect the lead's ethics. The draft I read was Keanu and Reece so it was pretty early BUT the main point is that even though he did it out of loneliness and potential love for someone he didn't know, he still told her. She hates him for I can't remember how long but she later understands and they live a long, happy life together. Yes, he's incredibly selfish by waking her up, but the script still covers his wrongdoings. It doesn't right them, but it finds slight comedy out of the terrible situation they're in. THE VOICES is a DARK comedy. This isn't even a comedy, it's a drama, it's a love story set in a science fiction world. Should it cost $100M, no way. The budget has ballooned and unless it isn't done right, it'll struggle to make $ but it's a wonderful story with an incredible ending.
