STAR7 (A)...spoilerizing comments inside...
Probably my favorite scene is the Force mind-control showdown between Rey and Kylo. So much conveyed with so little. Just Kylo holding his hand out and Rey subtlely leaning towards him more and more. As if to say eff you and your powers.
Speaking of how the Force is visualized here. I lke that there's no hand-waving or showy spinning of lightsabers. I like that in her fight with Kylo, Rey went straight for stabbing forward with her lightsaber. No messing around with swinging the damn thing around.
I hope Supreme Leader Snokes really is that big. Otherwise, he's got major compensation issues. =P
I liked the new Starkiller Base. I wish they had found a way to keep it around for the whole trilogy and save it's destruction for the finale. Or maybe have it's size and destructive capacity be slowly revealed over the 3 movies. Oh well.
All this complaining on the Internet about how TFA is basically a rehash of A New Hope, but isn't "history repeats itself" a recurring theme in the Star Wars movies? Or "we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past or those who came before us." I like the parallels that keep appearing.
When Han walked out onto that bridge to confront Ben/Kylo, I thought to myself: "This can't end well." When I saw that the two of them had an audience, I thought: "This REALLY can't end well."
Looking forward to the (I assume) climactic showdown between Rey and Kylo. Maybe Poe will teach Finn how to be a pilot. To me, Star Wars movies (and Marvel movies & TV shows as well) are soap operas for geeks and we eat it up. :)
