Please don't screw up Revival. It's one of the darkest, most tremendous of Stephen King's recent novels. This could be so great.
This book really put the hook in me, and it never let me go. I was dreading it for WEEKS after I was finished with it. It's that good.
There are several set pieces in this book that could be unforgettable onscreen. There are some great characters in this,
And then there's that ending. One of the darkest things ever. I would love to see somebody make this thing, and actually go there, because what King is going for here, all i can say is wow.
Sometimes when you're reading a really superb novel you have that feeling that the work could be turned into a truly great film. I remember when I read No Country the first time, you just had that feeling, and then when the news broke that it was going to be the Coens, well, that was it.
I would've loved to see Daniel Day Lewis play Charles Jacobs in this. You could have so much FUN doing this role! I have no doubt that Samuel L. can do this impressively. I love the man's work. The casting of this is going to be so important (like almost any good movie). Nail the casting, and for God's sake please figure out how to convert this into a truly macabre film.
