Long BvS, Short Wedding

I'm guessing that BvS is going to be fairly review proof, at least opening weekend.  Fan-boys have been waiting their entire lives for Batman to fight Superman on screen.  Throw in Wonder Woman and it's like fan-boy nirvana.  They're going to have to see it for themselves, even if others say it's bad.

The audience for the first Wedding was largely old women.  That's not the audience that's coming back for a sequel, especially not one 14 years later.  This one will likely have to stand on it's own, and this is a case where poor reviews might matter.  Older audiences tend to pay more attention to critics, and the reviews for this one are even worse than BvS.

OW Gutcheck: In light of the fact that there are two (potentially) very profitable openers this week it seems an early poll is in order. {nm} hyperzeitgeist Mar 25, 02:54

I'm going long the tentpole and short the Greek. {nm} hyperzeitgeist Mar 25, 02:55

Long on both. {nm} RollingThunder Mar 25, 03:25

shorting the wedding in a big way... small shorting the superguys in their shorts {nm} JMT-NL Mar 25, 03:45

What are your thoughts on shorting the Wedding? Just don't see the demand, or think it will be trampled by BvsS? {nm} RollingThunder Mar 25, 03:57

Its à different audience, so not much problem there. But early reviews are not good... Part one was à long time ago and... JMT-NL Mar 25, 04:10

Long on both of them. It's the only way to be sure. {nm} pennystocks2 Mar 25, 05:12

Long BvS, Short Wedding shadowking Mar 25, 05:14

I'm the exact opposite. The bad reviews for BVS are getting a lot more news coverage than those for MBFG2... diamondman56 Mar 25, 05:26

OW Short the freaks dressed as clowns long on Greek nostalgia. {nm} Dorfman Mar 25, 05:59

Short both I guess islander Mar 25, 06:35

Long on both {nm} JustaGuy Mar 25, 06:44

Long the heroes, short the Greeks.. but still interested to see if reviews take BvS down or if we all still flock to superheroes regardless. {nm} Biff68 Mar 25, 06:49

Those are the Million dollar questions allright {nm} SequelsFund Mar 25, 06:56

Short BvS (the film has lost any forward momentum it had) and Long Greek {nm} RamsFan2004 Mar 25, 07:25

+1 for all the same reasons. BvS is only going to lose speed over the weekend. Fanboys agree BvS is weak sauce. {nm} chosenone2oo5 Mar 25, 11:24

I'm betting pre-sales carry it through the weekend if it really was outpacing Avengers, I think we're good {nm} JustaGuy Mar 25, 07:44

long supe short greek. Big diff between SUPE2 and SUPE2.OW prices, someone's gonna make money {nm} andy007 Mar 25, 08:28

Long both. Just re-watched costume trailer and can see why the masses will turn out this weekend despite RT % {nm} DTshakes Mar 25, 09:33

long on both. {nm} Birdstwin Mar 25, 12:05
