Kind of early to call on DC films - besides Iron Man, the first couple Marvel films weren't mega-hits either.

They did well, just not the way they rake in cash now. Just like BvS is no Avengers, but has made a healthy amount of money. If the DC universe finds its footing with Suicide Squad and/or Wonder Woman, the momentum could build.

Given how much better MARVEL films seem to fare vs. DC, any thoughts on why such a huge gap between WONDR and SPID6, released a month apart? {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:01

You mean why doesn't Marvel move Spidey closer to Wonder Woman? {nm} RamsFan2004 Apr 12, 10:05

Haha, no, I meant a price gab of more than $60....Especially with the great buzz CAPA3 is getting, and all the crossover {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:07

Well I certainly wouldn't say "always", and when things don't make sense, I question. Closer releases are always over-discussed already :) {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:10

This comment should be lower down the thread. I meant to answer Anti {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:11

Your motivation seems to be to move the stock price, rather than a geniune discussion of the box office. {nm} Antibody Apr 12, 10:14

That is patently false and I take offense to that suggestion. This game is a silly distraction and a way to follow Movie happenings {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:24

The Spider-man franchise has been beaten to death. The bad ending to the third trilogy, the mediocre reboot, the bad sequel to that. shadowking Apr 12, 10:05

It may face a Batman Begins kind of struggle, where it puts up just ok opening weekend and it takes a quality entry to spark SPID7 {nm} notfabio Apr 12, 10:09

I agree with this point, but those previous films weren't part of the MCU. {nm} tomcat90 Apr 12, 10:13

Why are your questions always about prices for films more than a year away? {nm} Antibody Apr 12, 10:07

The earlier Marvel films weren't featuring the two biggest fictional cultural icons of the past half century. {nm} CommonAnomaly Apr 12, 17:00

No, but they were films about characters who hadn't been filmed before, multiple times {nm} CG63 Apr 13, 15:04
