So yeah, its dark, but it has to be. The concept of fliping perspectives isnt new but Hill really makes Rogen's character hit every traditional heroic beat but it never loses sight of him being a total loser and ****. I don't think I've ever seen it done in a way thats absolute like it is in Observe and Report. I admire that. Eastbound and Down tried to do this but was only really successful in the first season (which I also think is equally brilliant). And I find the film hillarious, even the really really dark stuff. So not only do i find the movie a very funny comedy but its completely unique from my perspective and thats rare. So thats why its on my list.Ā
