Episode 1 431m
Episode 2 302m or 70% of 1 (Jar Jar Binks? Or natural flow of a series gross)
Episode 3 380m or 125% of 2
Episode 4 307m
Episode 5 209m or 68% of 1 (omg...why did it go down? Must've been the Force)
Episode 6 252m or 120% of 2
Episode 7 936M
Episode 8 Could make 637m with a 32% drop like Epi 5.
Episode 9 If it follows the path could make 768m
So Epi 8 is estimated at 483m now. It easily crosses 500m and heads toward 600m. I think it does get to the 630m threshold...if it doesn't...you could argue that the spamming of RT affected the picture negatively. I still see Epi 9 going over 700m. If Episode 2 could come back from the Jar Jar Binks backlash...Episode 9 really has nothing to worry about. But hold on to your hate. Let it flow through you. Be a dark side warrior. I agree that this Episode was not all to my liking but, there was plenty to make up for it.
But traders would be wise to look at how the SW franchise has performed in the past. it would have predicted the current gross well before your outrage which I can then propose that the supposed nerd outrage over the movie has no impact on the pictures gross...provided it gets to 630m in its release.
