I disagree. I found it interesting and gripping. The score was practically a character in the film which when I don't accept that makes it

heavy-handed and when I do, makes me think it deserves awards. The editing didn't grab me and stand out but I never got a chance to watch it a second time on the big screen. I found the whole event of the film and the characters he followed compelling. And what...a short run time from Nolan??? I found it to be one of the best pics of the year. My opinion is all...and I sometimes have quirky taste.  ;-)

Oscars: 13 noms for The Shape Of Water, list islndr Jan 23, 05:55

No noms for "Wonder Woman," sad... {nm} VictorY Jan 23, 06:31

"Wonder" should have gotten a Best Picture nod.. Also sad..# {nm} VictorY Jan 23, 06:35

Spielberg and McDonagh left out of Best Director {nm} slipping jimmy Jan 23, 06:34

And Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) {nm} VictorY Jan 23, 06:36

20 wrong in NominOptions. Worst year for me {nm} ryeontherocks Jan 23, 06:38

I had 9 wrong, but I could have reduced that had I logged on and updated my list a day or two before. You snooze you loose! {nm} pquicio Jan 23, 06:44

My best year...34 right 7 wrong {nm} GruntNoNeck Jan 23, 12:41

What a "disaster" for "artist" James Franco {nm} FabioParme Jan 23, 06:52

I did fine... only played 17 of the shorts... and 1 long (lesley mannville)... all of them right ! {nm} JMT-NL Jan 23, 07:44

Was Armie Hammer the most expensive non-nomination this year? {nm} MiyazakiFan Jan 23, 07:50

I sold him, so I didn't lose money. 2nd is Martin McDonagh Director - Lost the most money on him {nm} JDolphin Jan 23, 14:34

Guess we underestimated the Academy's love of Paul Thomas Anderson {nm} warcraft86 Jan 23, 08:10

Not sure why Dunkirk got so much love. Liked it enough, but I thought the editing was bad and the score was so lackluster. {nm} -JPV- Jan 23, 08:56

I agree. Dunkirk was a good movie, but not a great movie. {nm} pquicio Jan 23, 09:26

It hits the sweet spot for the still predominantly senior age voting base for Oscars (and is the one big lavish production among nominees) {nm} notfabio Jan 23, 09:46

Its the lawrence of Arabia , the bridge on the rivier kwai, lavish-movie... and against the competition this year, it should win {nm} JMT-NL Jan 23, 10:27

Watching dutch tv now... haha... dutch producer van heyningen says "dunkirk is a too small depiction of that enormous event" JMT-NL Jan 23, 10:45

no shot. Three Billboards and Shape of Water split first-place votes. Lady Bird or Get Out is the consensus second-choice pick {nm} slipping jimmy Jan 23, 10:45

Lol this ain't your millennial get out the vote. {nm} doitdoitdoitnow Jan 23, 10:54

Same goes for Shape of Water {nm} ndmaster Jan 23, 17:01
