Marc Webb [MWEBB] to direct live action remake of huge anime hit "Your Name."

This is one of my absolute favorite films of the last few years.. it is gorgeous and the story is sweet and funny and it's certainly the kind of film you should be able to translate to live action with ease. Whether or not we'll still get the beautiful visuals will be interesting.. fingers crossed. The remake will take place in America and involve a Native American girl who lives i a rural area and a boy who lives in Chicago.

Makoto Shinkai, the writer/director of the original is pleased with the choice:

"It is announced that the director of the Hollywood edition of Your Name. is Marc Webb. He is my favorite director, I am so happy! We will do our best on our new film not to be defeated by it. I secretly put an homage to Marc Webb's 500 Days of Summer into Weathering With You (laugh), please look forward to it if you are a fan of his films."
