I want to see it on the biggest screen possible, with the very best sound, and with an audience.
If you know you have something special, hold on to it for crying out loud.
Just hold it. Wait with it.
Disney plus? Are you serious? And what, is it going to cost 30 bucks to see it on my computer screen? Simply not happening. And this would be a complete waste of what sounds like a superb work of art.
What am I missing here? Move it to the weekend before Memorial Day 2021. Hold it for a year, until NEXT Thanksgiving; perhaps by then people have returned to the world we used to know.
Do something to give people hope for the future. A will to keep things going and trying to be their best in the face of all this.
As I type this, I'm sitting here watching the streets of downtown Los Angeles fill up with Laker fans. The Lakers never played in Staples Center in any playoff game, and the team is in a bubble in Florida. It's weird, it's creepy, and the fact is the only people that can really enjoy this semi normally are the players, who at least got to go to a version of work. None of the hard core fans got to experience it as expected back in the winter. And The Dodgers are going through a similar thing right now; they're playing their playoff games in Texas, even though they're playing the Atlanta Braves.
These events are depressing. They accentuate that things are not right in the world. It all feels bizarre. Not right. The movies are an enormous part of this feeling for people. We don't want to go see movies in masks and gloves, in empty theaters. And we certainly don't want to pay 25 bucks to watch some new movie on our couch. Hold this movie, and hold the others that you know or think are a winner.
Disney Plus. No.
