More-so people saying no to crappy movies, no? Also, look at the summer line-up, it really wasnt that spectacular so far

Iron-Man 2 had to live up to a better first movie, where Spider-man 2 and TDK were both widely considered better than the first in their series.  Shrek 4 didn't have as much mass appeal.  All of  the other movies that have bombed were nothing special.

Not to mention that on the east coast the weather was so bad in the winter in early spring that people are less inclined to go to a movie on a nice day.  At least these are my opinions, but who knows.

Have moviewatchers finally said, "That's it." to the new higher movie prices? MiyazakiFan Jun 06, 17:36

They were perfectly happy to pay high ticket process for Avatar and Alice in Wonderland. It's the movies. {nm} RogerMore Jun 06, 17:40

Those are the only two movies though.. and they were giant, event, 3D films. MiyazakiFan Jun 06, 17:42

Iron Man 2 is almost at $300m. CLASH and HTRYD have done well too. {nm} RogerMore Jun 06, 17:49

Plus summer is supposed to be full of giant event films. This summer just hasn't delivered them so much {nm} RogerMore Jun 06, 17:54

you're right. Lets see audiences stay away from Toy Story 3 and Eclipse because of ticket prices. {nm} Moviesnob Jun 06, 18:01

Pretty much. The bottom line is that most of the summer films this year have been pretty poor with a few exceptions {nm} mrbeankc Jun 06, 21:50

yes it did darknightz Jun 06, 18:38

prices, not process. Stupid autotype {nm} RogerMore Jun 06, 17:43

How much is to high, I took my family of 4 to SHRK4 for with popcorn and drimks for less than $30. Movies are better in damenchipguy Jun 07, 06:15

I'll speak for myself and say yes. After prices went up to $12 per ticket 2 years ago, I said it's just not worth it. Haven't been back Oleg Max Jun 06, 18:51

tix prices vary much around the world. i can still see new (non3d)films OW evening as low as $5 here (midwest US). Recent films just havent islander Jun 06, 19:41

Thank God For Costco, two adult tickets for $15.49. (No blackout dates) {nm} BelizeIt Jun 06, 20:33

I paid $35 for two tix to see Iron Man 2 in IMAX at the AMC Boston Common. Not going to do that again. {nm} swynne23 Jun 07, 06:02

Except for a movie like Avatar that was made for 3D, I don't like to pay the extra for movie which had 3D patched over... lukasck Jun 07, 07:33

You can get the DVD in what -feels like- a couple weeks after release. Huge TVs are becoming more common. Why waste the money now? {nm} Biff68 Jun 07, 08:32

1 word- Netflix {nm} Egon Jun 07, 08:45
