Sneider HOTMIC Scoop from yesterday: ALIEN 5 is currently titled ALIEN: ROMULUS notfabio Nov 18, 12:14

Would be funny if it's xenomorphs running around the the dawn of Ancient Rome or weirder, Romulus, Michigan. notfabio Nov 18, 12:24

or influenced by the mythology (Romulus kills his twin brother in a power struggle) {nm} Moviesnob Nov 18, 12:32

20th's Div President made it seem like it it was a "risky/edgy" idea which seems to at least point to it not be in a ship notfabio Nov 18, 12:42

THR and Sneider said it's Hulu {nm} Antibody Nov 18, 12:40

Its bonkers to me that PREDATOR and ALIEN are DTV and POTA is theatrical. I mean the numbers don't lie, but its surprising {nm} Moviesnob Nov 18, 13:36

Likely boils down (among other reasons) to 4 quadrant CGI tentpole PG13 franchises vs 1-2 quadrant R rated franchises. notfabio Nov 18, 13:51

That said, I can't imagine overall there's nearly as many people who feel as strongly about APES films as they do ALIEN/PREDATOR. {nm} notfabio Nov 18, 13:54

but genre/horror has been the consistent theatrical overperformer post-COVID. Prey would have cleaned up in September donny blaze Nov 18, 14:02

Theatrical-wise I think the one-shoe-in for ALIEN would be the ALIENS rebootquel, but Ridley Scott either/or hates Blomkamp/the idea notfabio Nov 18, 14:08

do the Prey thing where it's one-on-one in a setting we haven't seen in any of the previous Alien movies {nm} donny blaze Nov 18, 14:31

give the alien some stakes...which I don't think we've seen (I think) since the Queen and her eggs in Aliens {nm} tealfan Nov 18, 16:16
