BOR: The Menu made made $3.6m on Friday for 2nd place behind Wakanda Forever, which made $17.9m {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 07:21

That's a 79% Fri-to-Fri drop for Wakanda with the caveat that last Friday was Veteran's Day with no school. TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 07:25

SHESD $830K Antibody Nov 19, 08:02

Probably should have platformed this.Wonder what the budget was like. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 08:30

Stupidity knows no bounds. Why put this out this way now? So it can "bring in new subscribers" sooner? LOL. goodvibe61 Nov 19, 08:47

If they really thought it could bring in subscribers with it, they would have done day-and-date ala Halloween Kills/Ends {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 08:54

So: Are they just saying "let's cut our losses, spend as little as possible, as nobody will go see it either"? Is that it? goodvibe61 Nov 19, 09:07

I intend to see She Said in a theater soon (better be soon lol). I just don't get the strategy. Should've platformed, like most specialties. {nm} goodvibe61 Nov 19, 09:35

If no one even in NY/LA is watching this weekend, platforming is not going to make anymore. {nm} Antibody Nov 19, 09:59

If no one's watching it in theaters, why keep playing it in empty theaters? {nm} Antibody Nov 19, 09:13

Contracts. It'll be reduced to one showing a day over Thanksgiving and then lose theaters on Dec 2 to Violent Night. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 09:15

Contracts are not more than 2 weeks. {nm} Antibody Nov 19, 09:55

I was responding to goodvibe who thinks it should have a longer theatrical window. {nm} Antibody Nov 19, 09:57

Thanks for clarifying! TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 13:22

Incidentally, the first two episodes of S3 of the streaming drama The Chosen looks to take third place this weekend. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 19, 09:15
