Sounds like a case with finger pointing regarding AI.

Posted by: Jay_Beezy (a.k.a Jay_Bling) on May 04, 12:52 in response to Antibody's post Sure, but that doesn't mean writers themselves don't use...

Writers are concerned that studios will use AI generated scripts to circumvent human writers, while studios are allegedly concerned that human writers might use AI to generate their scripts.

Belloni: AMTP responded to WGA's claims, sounds like they are very far apart. notfabio May 04, 11:47

at least as of last night, DGA, SAG, IATSE & Teamsters showed full solidarity with WGA (a change from 2007 at least). everyone was fired up my mate paul May 04, 11:57

Are the studios really saying that the *writers* want to use AI? {nm} Jay_Beezy May 04, 12:18

Everyone is using AI, even writers. ChatGTP is an amazing tool {nm} Antibody May 04, 12:23

I thought the WGA's point of contention was *studios'* apparent growing preference to AI generated scripts in lieu of human writers. {nm} Jay_Beezy May 04, 12:32

Sure, but that doesn't mean writers themselves don't use AI to write and rewrite their work. {nm} Antibody May 04, 12:39

i don't know of any writers who are worried they'll get sniped by someone using ChatGPT to beat them to any punches my mate paul May 04, 13:41

One of the stated fears (for writers) is studios will generate AI scripts and then just hire script doctors to fix them (no rights) notfabio May 04, 12:32

lotta jokey picket signs about how much easier it would be to replace the execs' dumb notes before the scripts themselves {nm} my mate paul May 04, 13:42

Well, it would be a lot easier for AI to do the business side of Hollywood than the creative side. {nm} Jay_Beezy May 04, 14:00

this is one of the ironic things. everyone at the studios already knows AI is coming for their jobs even sooner than writers {nm} my mate paul May 04, 14:04

automation is coming (or has come) for all of us. Some are just more privileged than other to fight it {nm} Moviesnob May 04, 14:48

Automation also comes easier to some jobs over others. Executives over writers, for instance. ;) {nm} Jay_Beezy May 04, 15:22

Already made that point. Doh. Lol {nm} Jay_Beezy May 04, 16:52
