JABAY's Society of the Snow will be the closing night film of Venice... to be released by Netflix.

So yeah, probably won't need an IPO but since it's mostly a Spanish-speaking cast, probably non-SAG... but I could see it being one of Netflix's awards movies, especially considering the success they had last year with All Quiet on the Western Front. The movie is based on the plane that went down in the Andes with a rugby team on board that led to cannibalism to survive. There was a great doc about this story which for the life of me I can't remember the name. Maybe MovieSnob remembers.
