Blue Fox Entertainment announced today that FITTING IN, formerly titled “Bloody Hell,” will be released theatrically in the US by Blue Fox this fall. Elevation Pictures is handling Canadian rights and will release at the same time. Blue Fox’s international division is also handling ROW sales on the film. Written and directed by Molly McGlynn, FITTING INis a coming-of-age “traumedy” that follows 16-year-old Lindy (Maddie Ziegler)who is unexpectedly diagnosed with a reproductive condition, MRKH syndrome. The diagnosis upends her plans to have sex, her presumptions about womanhood and sexuality, her relationship with her mother (Emily Hampshire), and most importantly, herself. FITTING IN premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festivalto rave reviews. The Daily Beast’s Laura Bradley said of the film: “Personal, raw, and at times wickedly funny, the film is an excellent showcase for Ziegler, whose natural performance leaves a lasting impression,” while Collider’s Marco Vito Oddo called it “an essential exploration of gender and sexuality.” |
