I find that some of Universal's recent decisions re: the FF franchise have been quite odd
And maybe that's what pushed Justin Lin off of it... after the delay with F9 and deciding to end Fast X with a cliffhanger, it's odd that they're delaying the continuation (similar with MI8) because you'd think that striking while the iron is hot and there is interest is better than holding off, throwing in a sequel to a less popular spin-off movie, etc. It's like they're deliberately trying to hijack their biggest franchise. I mean, the last three movies have done consistently over $700 million worldwide even with COVID potentially affecting F9... but did they make Fast X without knowing what happens next? That's the impression I'm getting.
