The combination of : thursday night preview number rolling into friday, plus friday is the 4th, a day with lots of activities/obligations...
It makes Friday July 4th a difficult day to judge what the numbers mean from that day. For many people, if you've got a 3 or 4 day weekend this weekend, Friday the 4th is very possibly an impossible day to plan going to a movie; your day might be full due to obligations. I know there's no way I'm going to a theater yesterday; it's simply not possible. Zillions of people are in the same boat. Gotta take the kids out in the evening to see the fireworks; got to spend the whole day at some barbeque or picnic or party, got to spend the day preparing to host people in the evening, and on and on and on. I saw alot of people last night at a friend's house; nobody there went to a movie yesterday; nobody.
