Eh... you know, I actually have a background as a sound engineer, and the actual distinction between left/right speakers in most theaters...
is pretty negligible. Most movies are mixed to be able to be played in most movie houses, both the fancy ones with actual Dolby Atmos and ones without. Sure, sometimes, there are sound things using the full 360 degree sound field, but the screen is the screen, and when you see a movie premiere at the Roy Thomson Hall, you might be in a box off to the left or right and the actual screen is still the screen... even 3D works if you're not completely centered. (In fact, Jon Landau has said that it's best to sit closer to your dominant side so if you're a righty, you sit slightly to the right of center.)
