The real market, being things like the DOW is far more complex. A person doesn't just make money by buying/shortingselling/covering a given

stock. First of all a person who holds 51% of all stock in a company essentially owns the company through what's called controlling interest. These stocks also pay dividends to investers usually quarterly but not always. These things don't exist here. The number of shares held is limited and it really doesn't matter how many I own I have ablsolutely no say in any movie. No stock pays dividends and never will. I can't invest by judging the current income of a stock 99% of the time there isn't any. Not until after the movie releases. There are other exceptional differences that HSX will find themselves completly helpless to mimic. The rules and function of the real market are far more complex then HSX can make their game.

geez ive been away too long, When & WHY did the opening weekend Halt get moved from friday 10am to sat 6pm?? {nm} adrenalin112 Jan 15, 12:29

HSX is trying everything possible to make the game less fun. shadowking Jan 15, 12:37

That's putting it mildly. {nm} grammar Jan 15, 14:18

I don't see the point of it. There's even less activity/discussions on the boards on Saturday than there was before. {nm} secretstalker Jan 15, 14:18

Probably half of my board activity in the past was opener related, now I don't post about them at all because I don't care. shadowking Jan 15, 15:06

Agreed. No more gutchecks. {nm} ryancoke2 Jan 15, 16:26

There wouldn't be gutchecks on Saturday anyway, but if they're hoping for more trading activity, it backfired. {nm} secretstalker Jan 15, 17:01

Agree. Playing openers was my favorite thing here. Now I just sell the opening stocks early and move the money to something else. Lame. {nm} Biff68 Jan 16, 08:10

i like it, you're basically playing openers a couple weeks before release, then you either win or lose horribly {nm} john Jan 15, 13:06

if you were away too much longer... you would have experienced the other game change! {nm} RazorHawk Jan 15, 13:21

i like it too. i never was big on playing openers. got burned badly a few times in the past and decided not to play them for the most part Oleg Max Jan 15, 14:50

They seem to have a need to make this game more like the real stock markcet. It may be that they think it will make their data Rigit Jan 15, 19:05

Since when have real stocks been accurate indicators of a company's worth? {nm} DTravel Jan 15, 19:41

The real market, being things like the DOW is far more complex. A person doesn't just make money by buying/shortingselling/covering a given Rigit Jan 16, 08:55

And you don't get ****ed with reset trading like you do here. {nm} Hooray360 Jan 16, 17:37
