My Oscar pool is a 100 point system.

I weight the catagories with the best picture/director acting awards and animated all worth 7 points.  The screenplays are worth 6 points each, music categories 5 points...and they go down to 1 point each for the shorts and sound catagories.

I have been running the Oscar pool at my Oscar parties since the mid 90's and average about 30 people a year these days.

Last year, I also had everyone vote on Best Picture by ranking the nominees 1 -10 and showed everyone how the best picture is determined by the academy during one of the commercial breaks.  Avatar was our selection for Best Picture.
