D.Mac you may want to add HWEAV to HOBIT and HOBT2. (spoilers)

Elrond is in the book, just after the encounter with the trolls when adventurers visit Rivendell, and near the end when Gandalf and Bilbo visit Rivendell again on there way back to Bag-End. Bilbo gives him "such small gifts as he would accept." That should cover both movies. :)

Also The One Ring has him listed as confirmed on their cast list. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/the-hobbit/cast/
Not sure when this was last updated but he has been listed as confirmed there for months and months.
