That's odd. May have to borrow my girlfriend's iPhone to check it. It should work...
The left side menu is just an html list with some formatting. It doesn't contain anything 'fancy' like java, javascript, php, etc., just pure html goodness.
Also, my site analytics show an average of over 10 pages per session for 119 sessions from iPads and similar numbers for iPhones over the past month.
