i was an attorney. i gave it all up to move out here myself. i'm just saying be brutally honest, not only about your intent and dedication
but also about whether you have the requisite talent to do it professionally. is there anything or has anyone indicated that you might even be in the ballpark? because it can be a long, lonely pursuit under even the best of circumstances. and still, the odds are that 99% of people who try won't ever get paid a dime for anything they write.
basically, if someone told you going in that you would NEVER sell anything you wrote, would you still do it? if you're driven enough to persevere against that level of resistance, start writing i guess
