Just an oblique comment since I follow this from a stock perspective. . .
The Moderna approach uses personalized mRNA. Because they have to draw blood and create a targeted vaccine (based on mutations found in the individual's tumor), it will never be cheap like the mRNA flu vaccine. It also doesn't cure cancer (or specifically melanoma thus far). The doctors still excise the tumor--the drug combo lowers recurrence and spreading. It's a great thing. I doubt the whole premise of the article, though. When someone has a cancerous tumor removed in real life, a sizeable percentage of doubters will change their minds on mRNA-based mitigation solutions pronto. As they say, there are no atheists in foxholes.
