Based on what I'm reading on these boards, it sounds to me like the community is saying we want free trading back the way it was.

As an earlier poster described -- it sounds like the demise of the free trading period is turning into another "majestic fiascio" from HSX.

If free trading is not going to be exactly the way it was, then clearly the community is saying we want free trading in some fashion. And the more I think about it and the more I read, the more I realize this is a real game-changer. And not for the better.

There are any number of things HSX could have done before taking this drastic step. Something that does not hurt the honest players:

a. limit the number of times you can flip a stock within a given period. Duh! This should have been the first thing you guys tried.

b. fewer hours of free trading. Does it have to be 24 hours straight? Three hours on Sat, three hours on Sun?

c. alternate weekends of free trading. (it only happens every other week.)

d. Give us "X" number of free trades for the weekend. Say, 20 or 30.

e. Give us "X" number of free trades to be used ANYTIME during the week.

And here's a crazy idea -- when you see a stock obviously being manipulated, how about you halt it!! Duh!!

BTW, stop listening to these billionaries when ONE of them complains. People with mult-billion dollar portfolios have nothing to complain about here. Maybe HSX should have a sliding commisson scale. The bigger your port the more you pay. Say 100k per transaction for all those high rollers. How do you Billionares that won't miss free trading like THAT idea? I bet you'll feel the pain in your portfolio and change the way YOU play after paying a few of THOSE commissions.

The death of free trading hurts no one but the small porfolios. Unfortunately that's 90-95 percent of the people here at HSX: The ones who are still excited about the game. The ones who invest their time in the community here. The ones who are not yet bored with the game. The ones who don't get to sit on their arse and make 30 million dollars a week without lifting a finger or doing any research. The ones who don't get annoyed because free trading is stopping them from enjoying a football game. (wtf?). The ones you're going to run off if you keep taking the fun out of the game. So how about listening to us little guys and valuing our opinions for a change. Because we are the ones who will make this site a success -- or a "majestic failure".

Kirk out!

Will the "Free Trade" prizes be: get the next ## of trades commish free, or will you be able to accumulate them and use them as you want? {nm} eyescovered Sep 22, 16:58

In the past the method was this HSXToby Sep 22, 17:45

I more wonder how a trader would go about earning the free trades, difficulty should be equal to amout of trades, damenchipguy Sep 22, 17:53

Community input seemed to obviously lean toward keeping commission free in the first place...lol {nm} Perfection Sep 22, 18:12

Assuming the Gods have spoken and this is their will then I suggest this... Guillo Sep 22, 19:59

Based on the past, HSX community has always been split on the free-commission period. There are just as many traders quietly happy. {nm} Antibody Sep 23, 09:46

Let me take a shot in the dark -- YOU have a multi-billion dollar porffolio. Funny how it's the billionaires that won't miss free tradiing. {nm} HuskyMiller Sep 23, 13:07

FYI - Antibody is D.Mac, an HSX employee. And several billionaires have made noise about the end of free commission, including the #1 and RogerMore Sep 23, 13:31

And??? Antibody, Anti-matter, D-Mac or Big Mac? What's the difference? But thanks for reinforcing my point: HuskyMiller Sep 23, 14:37

Read the post above yours - billionaires HAVE spoken up. Read the "Movies" board. {nm} remrej Sep 23, 15:32

Thanks for completely missing my point. {nm} RogerMore Sep 23, 16:55

You have inspired me to create a new league....Thanks. {nm} icecreamman Sep 23, 20:47

Nah I'm done with suggestions. {nm} Vashta Nerada Sep 22, 21:00

I'm mad about comm free leaving. Your game, your rules. I'll just have to live with it. I suggust making IPO's comm free. {nm} icecreamman Sep 23, 05:45

it woud be nice to earn 'commish free credits' or something where we could use them as we please..... eyescovered Sep 23, 06:17

Just thought of something. Won't these people with 10 ports have a 10 times better chance of winning than me. That's not fair. eyescovered Sep 23, 06:21
