I agree with most of your suggestions
While overall I like the design I think the use of lighter text colors makes the website hard to read. To much light grey and teal. There's a reason why a vast majority of websites use black text. It's readable.
I also think a seperate column for short/long is not needed. Just make shorts red text. Makes it easier to see them at a glance and is what the website has used for a long time without a problem.
Currently the percentages run together with the total change and net gain/loss. The simply solution here is just make the percentage text black. However I think the percentage today's change is not needed. I don't need to know that a certain stock is down .17%. Tell me it's down $0.75 is all you need for that. The percentage is just useless clutter for that.
Current price and average paid columns should be next to each other. The main reason to know what you average paid price for a stock is so that you can compare it to the current price. This is harder to do when the "today's change" column is in between them and made more difficult as that column is twice as wide as it needs to be.
