The critically acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar is best known for his twisted and eccentric comedies such as Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. He won the Palme d'Or for Best Director for All About My Mother at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. Almodovar was also rewarded with an Oscar in 2000 for Best Foreign Film for All About My Mother.
