Idea for user-created content, resubmitted without solicitation :)

I would like to propose bringing back some of the social networking features introduced in the Orange beta version of HSX of October 2008. These included the ability for players to create content ranging from blogs to polls. While the system was horribly abused by a few, some veteran players took to the new features quickly and enthusiastically. With hindsight as well as new suggestions, perhaps some of these features can be brought back.
Let players create a page with news, blogs, and polls, and the ability for others to comment. Set limitations on who can start a page; perhaps players with a certain size portfolio or length of time as a member. Don't allow schmooze points; in fact you could charge H$ for features. Perhaps rewards could be then given back for players with a high number of pageviews.
These features if done right could add interest to the game as well as drive traffic. Hopefully players will comment yay or nay, and feel free to express their thoughts.
(I write this anonymously only because Orange was/is such a sore spot with some players both current and former, that perhaps putting the idea out there will allow it to be discussed without hurting anyones feelings)
