Thank you. I too liked a lot of the social networking stuff in Orange
Though its many deficiencies sunk it, there were some good ideas in Orange. We've been able to bring a few of them over. I especially like the Search by Tag that allows the detail page to be a good jumping off point to search for news on a particular star or movie. When I see a steep price movement I go to the detail page and usually there's a post by one of the regulars that has some news that moved the stock.
I also agree with you that the right to post a blog or poll or what have you should be earned by being a member of the community. A person who has been a member of the community is far less likely to engage in shenanigans than a newcomer, and keeping anonymous users away from the cool tools helps too.
