As Frank Costanza would say, "I got a lotta problems with you people!"
I've noticed during the past two or three weeks that I sometimes have to enter a trade two or three times before it actually takes. And it's really pissing me off! (I use the trade button at the end of each row in my portfolio and I'm using Firefox on a Mac.)
This past Sunday nite/Monday morning after reset, I must have put in my Twilight and Blindside trades at least five times each before they took. Each time I hit the "confirm trade" button but these things never went through. I'm sitting there waiting (like an idiot) but over and over again, the transactions never showed up in my portfolio. It was ridiciulous! And all this week it has been happening more and more. At this point I'd say about 25 to 40% of my trades do NOT go through the first time. Additionally, ever since the new format arrived, I've long noticed that the trading block does not function properly. The "Buy Max, Radar and Short Max" buttons appear to function when they feel like it. Seems like they work once a day. That's it! if I flip a stock or try to buy or sell more during the same day, those quick access buttons along the bottom of the box WILL NOT WORK again no matter how many times I click them. I have to use the row of buttons above and manually input "max" or the # of shares. Is anyone else experiencing this? Because I'm thinking I've put up with this long enough and I'm really hoping it can be fixed.
By the way, Why is EVERYTHING about trading at HSX designed to be as slow as humanly possible? Why can't we buy several stocks at the same time? What is with this one transaction at a time nonsense? Why can't we have a "Flip" button. How crazy is it that we don't have a flip function considering that SOOOOO many of us switch positions all day long? Yeah I know it's fake money but Jez! I'm losing more and more because the transactions either don't go thru the first, second, or third time, or it takes so long to input info, the prices are just running away from me. And while I'm at it:
• The design of the portfolio page wastes too much space. it's too big and cumbersome. Takes up way too much of my laptop screen. This could easily be designed to have a smaller minimalst profile.
• The portfolio should also be fully customizable. There is info there I don't want and don't need that is taking up space, and there is info not there I would love to have. Personally I have no use for the average price paid or any of the PERCENTAGE change columns. We don't all trade the same way so we don't all need the same info.
• It would be nice if I could see my available cash balance during EACH PAGE of the stock buying process. It would also be nice if I could see my available cash balance on EVERY PAGE of the site. I cant tell you how much time I waste retreiving that ever changing number all day long.
• It would be nice if there were customizable quick links to the pages I visit most. I tend to visit the same three or four pages a zillion times a day and it would be nice if I could get to them in a split second rather than waitng and waiting for pull down menus to decide to load and drop down.
Ok, I've vented enough! (Obvioulsy this has been a long time coming.) I gave it a chance but the honeymoon is over and I'm totally over this new format. It looks great but for me leaves a lot to be desired. I'm just so frustrated with the short comings of what I consider to be basics that either just don't work, or just don't exist.
It's almost 5 a.m. I have to go cook a turkey. Happy Festivus.
