First and most concerning is your report of trades not "taking" which is a real concern. Since this isn't something we're seeing here at HSX and we haven't gotten any other similar reports, I'd like to work through this with you individually - please write to support@hsx.com and we'll roll our sleeves up to see what we can do.
You have many concerns about the portfolio and I'll try to touch upon them. But first, please recognize that we spent several months getting feedback from the community on how best to design this page, and this is the result of our collaborative effort. We've changed a LOT on that page since our first designs were rolled out. In other words, everything is there because someone wanted it, and cutting it down or removing it will get rid of function someone else thought important.
And sure, a fully customizable portfolio with user-programmable quick links and so on would be lovely, but holy smokes, that's a project! And don't forget that you've got to get that to work over a bunch of different operating systems, browser types, user capabilities and on and on.
The request for available cash feedback is a good one and in my opinion should be available through the transaction process. We'll see what we can do about getting that done, though the concept of including it on every page may need some discussion.
Lastly, we're very resistant towards anything that would enable automated trading. We feel that one of the reasons that HSX has been around for 12 years (a lifetime on the internet!) is because people entering the Exchange can eventually overcome the competitive disadvantage that comes from being new.
