... will walk away if it doesn't match their expectations. The expectation set by the companies that understand them. The average age of players in here is very high, that needs to change if this is going to be viable going forward. Not least because advertisers prefer that demographic by far.
I am sure there were enough volunteers who have accomplished UX/UI skills that could be drawn upon. Enough usage data to understand the types of people to design towards etc.
